Weebly and Wix are both web hosting platforms which design and provide it users with websites using drag and drop features. Weebly was created in 2007 by David Rusenko, Dan Veltri and Chris Fanini with headquarters in San Francisco with a current market value of about $455 million as of 2017. Wix, on the other hand, was created in 2006 by three Israelis; Nadav Abrahami, Giora Kaplan, and Avishai Abrhami. the company has an estimated net worth of $215 million with headquarters in Tel Aviv.
These two companies share a lot in common in terms of design, features, user support and simplicity of use. Before we look at what makes these two platforms very unique, it is important that we ascertain that they provide basically the same product.
Template Design. One of the most stunning characteristics of this two platforms is the quality and professional look of their already built templates leaving user only with the simple task of picking a look or design that suits their need and simply formatting text or pictures. Sometimes, users have to format templates which are not as easy as swapping photos of formatting text. The issue here is that once a template is selected on the Wix platform, it cannot be changed which is often not the best option for users. This is however not the case for Weebly where users can change template designs anytime they want to and the content will be automatically transferred into the new template.
Simplicity. Weebly and Wix already had in built templates leaving the user with the opportunity to choose from a list and edit which is very easy. These platforms give the users the liberty of formatting, adding and deleting content on chosen templates with a user-friendly drag and drop feature which comes in very handy. This creative freedom allows for easy and quick setup since most options are automatic. It is quite difficult to determine which of these two platforms is easier to use and frankly speaking, I think they both top the list. With regards to web tools and system support, users of both platforms are provided with tutorial videos over a wide range of topics as well as phone and email support. There is equally a community forum where you can search for solutions and answers to various questions posed by other platform users.Since Weebly and Wix are prominent website builders and relatively easy to use, they do not charge the same fee for their products and services. Weebly has a pricing plan that ranges from $8 to $38 per month while that for Wix run from $4.50 to $24.50 per month. This means Weebly is far more expensive to use than Wix although they are unique in what they offer. The two platforms support blog feature with scheduled posts and multiple commenting systems. They also have e commerce and mobile commerce features with multiple payment options and the ability to generate promotional coupons.Conclusion.It is difficult comparing this two platforms because they both offer more than enough to build a good website with very eye-catching and professional looking templates.
