What to Bring
The
“Live From the Rock” Folk Festival is located in Pull- a- Log Park on the scenic
shores of Lake Superior. Bring a friend, a lawn chair (low ones are best),
waterproof tarp, rain gear, warm clothes for the evening, a flashlight, bug
spray, sun screen, a hat, comfortable foot wear, a swim suit (there is a
community pool close to the site), reusable drinking cup and some cash with
which to purchase crafts, CDs, festival souvenirs, or some tasty treats from the
food booths.
Festival
Etiquette
- Bring your own lawn chairs, pillows,
blankets or tarps.

- Blankets and short lawn chairs make up the
front row seating. Tall lawn chairs must be placed in designated chair areas .
- Respect audience members who wish to remain
seated throughout the entire performance by standing at the back or along the
sides and dancing in the Designated Dance Area. A rush of the
stage threatens the safety and security of people and equipment. If necessary
the performance will be stopped at the discretion of the Festival Co-Chairs in
order to deal with possibly unsafe situations.
- NO pets, alcohol, drugs, glass, fireworks,
video cameras, tape recorders or ghetto blasters. Gate volunteers will check
the contents of all bags and coolers as the possession of these items on site
threaten the safety and security of people and equipment as well as the
Festival's liquor license for the Festival Pub.
For
People With Disabilities
- Guide dogs are allowed.
- Special needs parking is located on site -
let the volunteers at the gate know of your needs and they will direct you.
- Wheel chair accessible washroom facilities
are available.
- The grounds consist of open and uneven
fields so people in non-motorized wheelchairs may benefit from an attendant.
Come by Water
The
park is located on the shores of Lake Superior and the Red Rock Marina is on
site. If you wish to come by water and dock at the marina check out the
information on our website or call the Red Rock Marina at 807-886-2126.

- Some folks need their beauty rest... and
sleepless children become grumpy - please keep the campground quiet after 10
p.m.
- For the safety and sanity of all please
leave ghetto blasters and glass containers at home.
- It can be quite chilly at night on the
shores of Lake Superior - be sure to bring warm sleeping bags and clothing.
The 24th Annual Paju Mountain Run
On
Saturday, August 9th the run will take place in Red Rock just off site of the
festival grounds. This is an 11.2km course that takes a 715 foot climb up the Paju Mountain. Just to experience and complete this course is a rewarding
accomplishment.
Contact Leslie Swanson at 886-2284 to participate or volunteer.
We appreciate everyone's cooperation on these
matters which make for a safe and enjoyable Festival for all.
