All You Need is Folk

  • Thank you to everyone for a great 8th annual event - musicians, volunteers, vendors and festival visitors! Who was your favourite?  The newcomer, Kim Churchill from Australia? One of the legends - Ian Tamblyn or Valdy? A local artist - Bonnie Couchie from Pic River... or the Auditor General from Thunder Bay?  It's so hard to decided!  Once again, the artistic director, Liz Harvey-Foulds, put together an amazing lineup.  The weather cooperated and the festival was a success!

One housekeeping item - for lost and found, please contact Jackie Brewer at the Northern Credit Union in Red Rock (807-886-2247; located at 65 Salls Street).

The organizing committee will be hard at work beginning again in September, busy planning the 9th annual event for 2011 - August 5, 6 and 7.

  • Keep posted to the website for updates - or join our Facebook group at Live From the Rock.

Enjoy the rest of your summer!

Thank you to everyone who entered our 2010 Slogan Contest.  We are very pleased with the creativity of all who entered. After much deliberation, the winning entry belongs to Bev Coulter of Marathon – All You Need is Folk!  Bev is the winner of a free weekend pass for two.

  • We receive an overwhelming number of artist applications annually. Our volunteer artistic director is not able to respond to  the more than a thousand artists who annually contact her. The festival therefore no longer accepts unsolicited applications from artists wishing to play at the festival.
